Insurance Cover

Most people have their homes and cars insured, but tend to forget about themselves, and the emotional and financial impact of being suddenly unable to work because of illness or injury. Unfortunately, most of us are not in a financial position to manage this sort of crisis without some help.

All AustralianSuper – Finsuper division members can access Death, Total and Permanent Disablement (TPD) and Income Protection insurance cover. Fixed level of Death cover, Death and TPD, as well as long term Income Protection cover to age 65 are also available.

Key benefits of having insurance through you AustralianSuper – Finsuper division membership:

• You are covered for 24 hours a day, 7 days week – i.e. not just when you’re at work;
• Insurance premiums are provided at wholesale rates – i.e. generally, a lot less than what you may pay if you were to take out an individual policy;
• Your insurance cover will continue even when you change jobs or change industry, as long as you have sufficient account balance for us to deduct your insurance premiums’
• Insurance premiums are deducted from your Finsuper division of AustralianSuper account – hence you don’t need to worry about arranging payments; and
• You have the option to increase or vary your cover at any time, subject to the insurer’s approval.
  

The insurer for AustralianSuper – Finsuper division is currently The Colonial Mutual Life Assurance Society Ltd (CommInsure).
