To recognise this, Racing Victoria, together with the Victorian Jockeys Association and STA, now AustralianSuper, have developed a two-part retirement package designed specially to meet the needs of jockeys. The two parts are the Jockeys' Super Benefit and the Jockeys' Career Benefit. Jockeys' Super Benefit The Jockeys' Super Benefit is offered to you through AustralianSuper one of Australia's largest 'run only to profit members' industry funds. Jockeys' Career Benefit The Jockeys' Career Benefit has been initiated by Racing Victoria. It is designed to provide financial support for jockeys who reach retirement, are in need of financial assistance or are age 35 or over. To be eligible to participate, you must be a Victorian resident and:
You must also make a contribution of $10 to the Jockeys' Super Benefit or to another regulated superannuation fund for every Victorian ride. If you make this contribution then Racing Victoria will contribute $5 per ride to Jockeys' Career Benefit.
