Investment management fees are taken out of AustralianSuper’s investment returns before returns are credited your account.
AustralianSuper's investment management fees cover:
- Investment management
- Master custodian services
- Asset consulting
Management fees paid to investment managers may also include performance fees when their investment returns exceed agreed benchmarks. These benchmarks vary for each manager and there is no guarantee that a manager will earn a performance fee in any given year.
Below are the annual investment management fees for the 12-months to 30 June 2010 for each investment option.

Member Benefit Protection fees
This fee protects members with low balances (less than $1,000) from having their balance eroded by administration fees. The fee is deducted from the overall earnings of the Fund before investment returns are declared. This fee varies from year to year. Find out the current Member Benefit Protection fee.
In the unlikely event that total investment returns do not cover total administration costs, members with small balances will be charged a $10 administration fee.
ASX 200 Shares option
If you invest in the ASX 200 Shares option, you will pay an additional fee of $39 pa. For the time you are in the ASX 200 Shares option, this fee is calculated weekly and deducted monthly from your account. This fee is in addition to the standard administration fee that applies to all AustralianSuper members.
Macquarie Equities Limited will also charge participating members brokerage on every trade.
