Investment description

The Conservative Balanced Investment Option is designed for members who want solid capital accumulation, a steady income and reasonable likelihood of capital protection in an adverse investment environment.

Investment objective

The objective of the Conservative Balanced Investment Option is to outperform (after tax and fees) CPI + 3.5% pa, and the median conservative balanced fund, over the medium to longer term.

Investment management

The Conservative Balanced Investment Option invests in a broadly diversified portfolio including both income and growth assets. The asset classes utilised to provide this split comprise Australian and overseas shares, direct property, infrastructure, hedge funds, bonds and cash. Such a broad spread of asset classes reduces the effect of fluctuations that may occur in any single asset class and reduces the risk of a negative return.
