Your secure online account makes it easier for you to manage and keep track of your super
From your account, you can:
- Access detailed contribution transaction records
- Review your current investment strategy
- Review and update your insurance cover
- Update your beneficiary details (except for a binding nomination)
- Update your personal details, such as address, telephone and email address
- Request a benefit quote which includes a full breakdown of the tax components of your super
- Make personal contribution payments using BPAY, set up a direct debit or email your employer details for salary sacrifice payments
- Access our ASX daily trading platform (Member Direct) or pension transaction account

As part of our ongoing commitment to protecting your personal information, we have recently upgraded security for our online accounts.
From 13 August 2015 a small group of members will need to re-register their online accounts. If you’re a member who’s affected by this upgrade, you should have received an email or letter from us.

How you can help to keep your account secure
Online transactions carry a small risk and you should take steps to protect your privacy and access to your online account. Here are some things to keep in mind:
Use a strong password
Use a password that is difficult for others to guess:
- Your AustralianSuper password must be between 8 and 40 characters long
- You must include at least one letter and one number, but a mix of letters, numbers and symbols is best
- Your password is case sensitive – use uppercase as well as lowercase letters to make it stronger
- Avoid using common dictionary words, as hackers can use dictionary tools to try to gain access
- Make your password hard to guess – don’t use your name, address or date of birth
- Never give your password to another person
- Change your password regularly
- Don’t use public computers such as internet cafe`s or the library to access your account, as they may not be protected with the latest anti-virus software or they may contain keystroke-tracking software
- Before logging in to your AustralianSuper account, always ensure the website you are logging in from is either www.australiansuper.com or m.australiansuper.com (mobile site). If in doubt, go to www.australiansuper.com/login
- Check your last log-in date and ensure it is correct (you can find this at the top right of your screen once you’ve logged in)
- Check the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate to confirm that the site is authentic and to confirm your data is encrypted. SSL encrypts data transmissions sent via a secured website to ensure that only authorised parties can read that data:
- When accessing any pages on our website, the web address should start with ‘https’. In addition, look for a lock icon in your browser window (the location of the icon varies by browser – see examples below from Firefox and Interner Explorer). If you click on the lock icon it should display the SSL certificate details which will verify AustralianSuper as the owner of the website.
Other things you can do
- Don’t leave your computer unattended while you are logged in to your AustralianSuper account
- Always log out of your account after completing your transaction by using the ‘Log out’ link at the top of your screen
- Ensure you have up-to-date security software installed on your computer before performing online transactions
- Keep your web browser up to date, as newer browsers generally have better security features.
Avoiding email fraud
You may have heard about email scams targeting financial services websites. If you receive an email from AustralianSuper that is unsolicited requesting personal details about your account, or if you receive a suspicious email about your AustralianSuper account, you should call us on 1300 300 273 (8am to 8pm AEST/AEDT weekdays) to authenticate the email before responding to any requests in the email.
Accessing your account
If you are accessing your online account for the first time you will need to set up your account.
You can do this online; all you need is your member number and date of birth. You then set up your account with your own unique user name so that it is easy for you to remember in the future.
You will need the latest versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome or Safari to use the site, or you can use your smart phone or ipad to access your account. Before you access your account via your mobile device, you'll need to have your online account set up on your computer first.
You may be asked for a second password
Once you are logged in to your online account, you will be asked for a second password if you are a pension member and need to make a change to your account. If you have forgotten your second password, you are able to retrieve this online. You will need your member number to do this.
