As a member of the broader Western Australian community, Westscheme has a long-standing commitment to supporting local achievements in education and industry.
VET and Group Training Awards
The Westscheme Division of AustralianSuper continues to support Vocational Educational and Training (VET) in schools and Group Training Australia (WA) in celebrating some of Western Australia’s top students, apprentices, trainees, field officers and host employers.
Vocational education and training continues to play a vital role in keeping our economy advancing. The Westscheme Division of AustralianSuper is working alongside schools and industry to ensure that the highly valued graduates from VET programs in schools receive the community recognition that they deserve.
Our sponsorship of the Beazley Medal: VET and Awards for Excellence in Vocational Education and Training acknowledges the high calibre of Western Australia's VET students.
The Westscheme Division of AustralianSuper’s sponsorship of Group Training Awards recognises the contributions of individuals in industry. The Group Training Apprentice of the Year Award and Trainee of the Year Award are judged on performance on-the-job, training undertaken off-the-job and personal skills. Apprentices and trainees are required to demonstrate their skills development, reliability, leadership, an awareness of new developments and trends in their industry, their achievement of consistently high grades and effective communication skills.
Champion for Seniors Award
Every day seniors make important and valuable contributions to the community, and since 1985 the Department of Communities have acknowledged this contribution through the WA Seniors Awards.
The awards were initiated to promote the value older people bring to society, particularly through volunteer work, and highlight how we can learn from seniors’ life experiences, skills, knowledge and compassion.
The Westscheme Division of AustralianSuper continues the work done in the past with the Council on the Ageing WA to support these awards. The Champion for Seniors award recognises individuals, of any age, who work in a paid or voluntary capacity to improve the quality of life for seniors and retirees in Western Australia.
