How much lost super will Gary find?

Gary Wakeham changes jobs pretty often. It’s just the nature of his industry. But as a result he now has 9 lost super accounts.

Gary works in labour hire, often on construction jobs. He frequently works on short-term projects – sometimes for just a few weeks. Then when the work dries up, he has to move on.

You end up with all these little accounts, one for each job, he says. You just forget about them. It's hard to keep up with it.

We wrote to Gary letting him know that he had lost super. And then we sent Daryl Wynne, one of our account managers, to certify Gary’s ID.

AustralianSuper's Lost Super campaign has a mission to reunite thousands of our members with thousands of lost super dollars. And while sometimes the amount of money is small, the average roll-in so far is a not-so-small $6,471.

Over the next few weeks Gary's lost super accounts will start to filter into his AustralianSuper account. With just one account Gary will find it easier to manage his super, and it will cost him less in fees.

He's not sure how much money his nine lost super accounts will bring. ‘It doesnt matter how much money is there, says Gary. It'll just be good to get back what's mine.
