Learn the basics of investing. An overview of AustralianSuper's investment options and considerations when choosing investments.
Most of the news from emerging markets so far in 2014 hasn’t been good. Market watchers are wondering if it is the beginning of a new crisis or a bump in the road towards global recovery. So what is AustralianSuper’s investments team currently watching and what is our view on emerging markets?
In our last bulletin we highlighted four key investment themes to watch in 2014. So what might challenge the thinking of our Investments team and be shaping their views on where returns may come from this year?
Balanced: SuperRatings SR50 Median Balanced
*The returns quoted are net of fees and tax. The 1 year, 3 year, 5 year, 10 year and since inception figures, where they appear, are rolling returns as at 30 June 2011. These historical returns are the combined return information from previous ARF and STA investment options.
Where only one of the merging funds previously offered an equivalent to an option in the new product suite, the returns of that option have been used. Where both funds offered an equivalent option, the combined returns (asset weighted where possible) have been used. The same process has been used for calculating historical investment fees. Investment returns are not guaranteed as all investments carry some risk. Past performance gives no indication of future returns.
The Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) and other information shown in this section is current as at November 2010 (unless stated otherwise). The Trustee may alter the strategic asset allocation or the composition of individual asset classes from time to time to suit prevailing market circumstances.
The Balanced option is the default option for AustralianSuper superannuation members. For AustralianSuper Pension members, the default option is the Balanced option until age 75, when the default becomes the Conservative Balanced option.
