AustralianSuper lifts holding in Perth Airport

16 October, 2026

AustralianSuper has increased its investment in Perth Airport, underscoring its strong confidence in the airport's long-term growth outlook.

The acquisition of the 9.14% stake increases the Fund's direct ownership interest in Perth Airport to around 29.4%.

Perth Airport is Australia's busiest airport outside Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and is undertaking a significant long-term expansion and development program to support future growth.

AustralianSuper’s Acting Head of Real Assets, Carl Astorri, said:

"We are very pleased that we are increasing our investment in Perth Airport, an asset we've supported for more than a decade.

"Perth Airport is a high-quality aviation hub that has performed strongly over the long term, and the additional investment represents very good value for members.

"The airport has a compelling long-term growth outlook which is supported by its connection to major markets in Asia and Europe and its significant expansion program.

"The projected long-term passenger growth for the airport, supported by WA’s very positive economic outlook, made Perth Airport a very strong case for further investment.

"The Airport has embarked on a multi-billion-dollar capital program over the next decade, including a new runway and terminal as well as significant property development works around the airport.

"The increased investment further strengthens our commitment to invest in high-quality Australian infrastructure assets that deliver for members."

Perth Airport's CEO, Jason Waters, said:

"Perth Airport is privately owned by institutional investors, including superannuation funds that represent the retirement savings of millions of Australians.

"Perth Airport welcomes AustralianSuper’s increased investment in Perth Airport and the confidence it demonstrates in Western Australia’s long-term growth.

"The decision reflects the continued confidence of Perth Airport's existing shareholders and supports the airport's future expansion and investment plans.

"Perth Airport remains focused on delivering a significant aviation infrastructure investment program that will increase capacity, strengthen connectivity and support the State’s economic growth for decades to come.

"The Perth Airport team looks forward to continuing to work constructively with all shareholders to realise this vision."
