Learning and development @headerType>
At AustralianSuper, we are deeply committed to the learning and development of all our colleagues. We believe that continuous growth and professional development are essential for both individual and organisational success. Our comprehensive approach to learning ensures that every colleague has access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.
We encourage colleagues to identify their development needs, discuss various learning options, create personalised development plans, and take actionable steps towards achieving their goals. By following this approach, colleagues can engage in meaningful learning experiences that align with their career aspirations.
New colleagues are welcomed with a robust onboarding program that includes peer coaching to help them acclimate to their new roles and the organisation. This support extends to technology setup and access to technical resources, ensuring that they have everything they need to succeed from day one.
Colleagues have access to high quality internal and external development opportunities that ensure they have the skills and knowledge to be successful in their role. Everyone has access to LinkedIn Learning that means regardless of the individual learning need we have something available.
We run an internal Mentoring program that give colleagues the opportunity to learning and grow with each other and foster strong connections across the Fund.
At AustralianSuper, we are proud of the learning and development opportunities we provide to all our colleagues. By investing in their growth, we not only enhance their skills and career prospects but also strengthen our organisation as a whole. Together, we are building a brighter future for everyone.

Leadership @headerType>
AustralianSuper colleagues are guardians of the Fund’s purpose to put members’ interests at the heart of everything we do. We offer programs to support your leadership journey, ensuring growth at every stage.
We embrace the concept that leadership is a shared responsibility that extends across all levels of the Fund. This form of distributed leadership is especially effective in complex environments where work is highly interdependent, constantly changing, and responsive to new information, like ours.
While not everyone holds a formal people leadership role, all colleagues can participate in the leadership process by embodying the three leadership pillars:
- Progressive
- Empowering
- Accountable
The Fund’s leadership philosophy helps all colleagues deliver on the Fund’s strategy to be Australia’s leading superannuation fund in the world’s best system.
Leadership Academy
The Leadership Academy is a comprehensive initiative designed to enhance leadership skills and foster a culture of accountability and risk management.
It equips individuals with the skills, attributes, and behaviours to effectively lead teams and organisations. This prepares our colleagues to anticipate and mitigate risks.
Progressive leadership fosters a positive work environment, drives innovations, and boosts productivity while maintaining a stable and predictable risk environment.
A culture of inclusion and belonging
We believe the best way to achieve great outcomes for members is to foster a diverse and inclusive culture – one that encourages our colleagues to bring their true selves to work each day and participate in nurturing inclusive and respectful behaviours.
Note, these initiatives apply to our Australian office and may vary across our international locations.
Gender equality
At AustralianSuper, we are committed to diversity in all its forms, with a specific aspiration towards achieving gender equality. That’s why we’ve been cited as a WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality for over a decade.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples
AustralianSuper is proud of the cultural and linguistic diversity of our 3.6 million members3 and 2000 colleagues4. With support from the First Nations Foundation and our partnership with CareerTrackers, we continue to make inroads to increase representation of colleagues who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
Our colleague-led networks
These networks exist to support colleagues and contribute to AustralianSuper’s goals of diversity, inclusion and belonging. These networks include Pride@AustralianSuper, AustralianSuper Women, Connecting Cultures and Sustainability and Community Group.
