Data Services, AustralianSuper’s Data Office, is at the forefront of driving innovation and excellence. We are dedicated to unlocking the power of data to benefit our 3.6 million members1 and support delivery of AustralianSuper’s 2035 Strategy.

AustralianSuper stays on the front of investment technology really by being open to adopting new investment platforms that might not be more broadly adopted. Yeah,
it's a fantastic opportunity because often those platforms have more advanced or more broad capabilities than what you would generally see in the investments industry.
So we've got new platforms that are being brought on board and the skills supporting that kind of around the architectural side of things and the data management side of things as well and bringing everybody together. Investment data is very complex. So I think from a AustralianSuper perspective that's such a fantastic initiative. What I'm really excited about is all the new exciting data initiatives that are coming up.
Today I might be working on data models that service digital channels. Tomorrow there are plans for new projects to come in to give me an experience that is more tailored towards other aspect of data engineering and analytics. So that together makes my everyday amazing.

This team is responsible for ensuring data is governed, managed and utilised in a safe, compliant and appropriate manner. They have business ownership of data tools and platforms, and provisioning of capability.

The Member Data team develops strategic data products, enabling data-driven product and service offerings, and empowering our colleagues to make informed and high-quality decisions.

The Investments Data team develops core data assets to better inform investment decision-making and deliver returns for members.

This team delivers data capability for corporate functions and regulatory reporting to ensure compliance.

So I’ve been here for three years and I’ve already been promoted once. And the time I got promoted, I got the opportunity to set up data services as a brand new function within AustralianSuper.
Pretty amazing opportunity for someone who’s been at the company at that point for about a year and a half. The opportunity to lead really huge transformative projects at AustralianSuper, and the amount of learning and development I’m getting on a day to day basis because of those. It’s really tremendous.
One of the learning and development opportunities that I’ve taken advantage of at AustralianSuper was the DCAM training. DCAM lets data services professionals stay across what’s happening in the data landscape more broadly, both within the investment management world and within the superannuation world. I think one thing that stood out to me in my time working here is that AustralianSuper has locations globally, so the opportunity to work either within Australia or overseas, those opportunities, even just being open to me as an individual is one way that AustralianSuper supports me. definitely.
