    How to claim a tax deduction for voluntary (after-tax) contributions

    You can make a voluntary (after-tax) contribution via

    • the 'Transactions' tab of your account online, or
    • the mobile app home page.
  • How to change my direct debit

    You can change your recurring direct debit amount, frequency or bank details by submitting a new recurring direct debit request at least 5 business days in advance of the next scheduled direct debit. This will replace your existing recurring arrangement. You can do this online by logging into your account, or offline by completing and submitting a form.

    Online option:

    1. Log into your account online
    2. Navigate to Transactions, select Contributions and then the Direct debit option.
    3. View the recurring direct debit and select Cancel.
    4. Set up a new recurring direct debit arrangement with the changed amount, frequency or bank details.

    Offline option:

    1. Download and complete the Add to your super with after-tax contributions form.
    2. Scan and upload the completed and signed form at australiansuper.com/upload-document

    How to cancel my direct debit

    You can cancel your recurring direct debit online at least 1 business day in advance of the next scheduled direct debit. You can also cancel in writing to us at least 5 business days in advance, call us or contact your financial institution directly.

    Option 1: Online (at least 1 business day in advance)

    1. Log into your account online
    2. Navigate to Transactions, select Contributions and then the Direct debit option.
    3. View the recurring direct debit and select Cancel.

    Option 2: In writing (at least 5 business days in advance, plus postal delivery times)

    You can advise us in writing by post to AustralianSuper GPO Box 1901, Melbourne VIC 3001, Australia.

    Make sure you include the following information in your letter to us:

    • your membership number, full name and date of birth;
    • a statement declaring your wish to cancel your direct debit;
    • the direct debit amount and frequency;
    • your signature and
    • the date.

    Option 3: Or you can call us on 1300 300 273 (at least 5 business days in advance) between 8am and 8pm AEST/AEDT (Melbourne time) Monday to Friday.

    You can claim a tax deduction on your voluntary (after-tax) super contributions in your next income tax return by logging into your account online. (You can’t do this via the app).

    Log into your account online. Go to the 'Account' tab of your account, then select ‘Online forms’.

  • To set up salary sacrifice contributions, download and complete the Add to your super through your employer form, then provide it to your employer or payroll department.

  • To make a spouse contribution split (before-tax), download and complete the Split your contribution with your spouse form.

    Then upload a scanned copy of your completed form to us via our website.

  • Your spouse can make after-tax contributions to your AustralianSuper account using your unique spouse BPAY reference number.

    You can find your spouse BPAY reference number in the 'Transactions' tab of your account online. Select ‘Contributions’, then scroll down and click on ‘Spouse contributions’.

    To use the mobile app, you first need to register for online access to your account. Once you’ve got online access, you can download the mobile app to access your account via your mobile.

    Your myGov account tracks all your super contributions including those to any other super accounts you may have.
