Android app compatibility
As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure and efficient experience for all AustralianSuper members, we wanted to inform you about an upcoming change related to our Android mobile app.
Why: Our Android app currently supports devices running Android 5 and above. However, recent security assessments have highlighted vulnerabilities associated with older Android versions. To continue providing a secure app experience, we have decided to phase out support for Android 5 and 6.
Who is impacted: If you are currently using our app on an Android device running version 5 or 6, please be aware that you will need to take action. Here are the details:
- App compatibility: Starting from the next update, our app will no longer function on Android 5 and 6 devices. To continue using our services, you will need to upgrade to a device running Android 7 or higher.
- Access to your account online: You do not have to upgrade your phone if it is not feasible to do so. You can still access your account online using your existing username and password.
- Timeline: We will be rolling out this change over the coming weeks. We recommend taking action promptly to avoid any disruptions.
What you need to do next:
- Check your device’s Android version: Go to Settings > About phone > Software information to verify your Android version.
- Consider upgrading: If you are looking to upgrade your device in the near future, explore options for upgrading to a model that supports Android 7 or higher.
- Bookmark the member login page: Save the member login page link for easy access in case you need it.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. Our priority is to ensure the security and reliability of our services, and we believe this step is necessary to achieve that.
